sounds like it is going into shock.  Don't worry that kind of dogwood gets fruit that drops...........you probably will have another one next year but wait until late fall to move it

Use this mixture: Sugar 30% and water 70%, pour right around 3 gallons at the base of the tree. This will deal with the shock, and lessen it to the tree. You should be ok. -Birdy
