test you soil to see if it needs lime..............you can add old leaves, grass, old horse manure, mulch a pail of sand turn it all in with a machine...............have a mix of 2 tablespoons of DAWN into 1 qt water...................mix & spray onto plants.......get under the leaves...........when it rains do it again.
