ph should be 5.5-7.5 and we use composted horse manure around the plants.....................next year do a mix of mulch, hay, horsemanure and lime and till it all in, we even save old grass and leftovers from the garden.........turn it in & and you are ready for next year.............we disgard in the trash any old tomatoes plants because they get a fungus in Sept.
