depend on what is in the soil....ph should be4.8-6.5 fir regular potatoes and sweet potatoes ph should be 5.6-6.7.  we amended our soil with lime, old horse manure, leaves, mulch and if he had any old bales of hay.  You can side dress with dried horsemanure...........Happy Summer!
