The process for a chargeback on paypal is sometimes very hard to dispute. The customer can basically say that they didn’t receive the product or they returned the product and you are liable to refund them. If you can show proof that you shipped them the item and it arrived at the destination and they did not return item or show proof of shipping then it can be ruled in your favor. The problem is when you ignore the claim or do nothing about it. My only response as a Powerseller on eBay is to always just take the return with no questions unless it violates the return policy terms. For example I sold a watch with some light wear that I described. I had good pictures and my return policy was clearly stated that it was 7 days if significantly different than described. He left me positive feedback and then a week later asked to return item. I pointed to my policy. Had he not left me feedback I probably would taken the return regardless, but I felt pretty confident about that one. He just accepted. Even then if they insist, I will take it back because it’s not worth the negative feedback. You can avoid this by always describing items to a fault and take multiple pictures. But if Paypal ruled then you are liable, but maybe if you can find out more details and show that you shipped it you can get out of it. It depends on how much time has elapsed. Be proactive though by all means and don’t ignore it. Even if you don’t want to sell on eBay(which you won’t be able to until you clear it up) I would try to work out a payment plan with them before it goes into collection. Even if it’s 20 bucks a month. Good Luck
