How do I light the pilot light in my old wedgewood oven?

1 Answer

Answer :

Sometimes old stoves have a hole in the oven floor to light the pilot. There are probably lots of holes, but this one would be much bigger than all the others. A long fireplace match or long butane lighter might be needed. Also, there will be a thin gas line to the pilot, maybe you can find that and trace it to the gas jet. It will probably be surprising thin, maybe 1/8”, and it looks like you could bend it by hand (and you can so be careful!). Hope that helps, good luck!
