answer:I never really understand the performance of the pledge of allegiance unless you’re a civil servant or a public employee, or serving in the armed forces. I get the listening to national anthems (usually of both teams attending the competition), but perhaps that’s because I’m used to more multi-national things. The whole thing gives me the heebie jeebies that small children are asked to do this every morning at school. It seems a bit too much like indoctrination.
