I have never met an African American before, I have just seen them on TV. Is it true that they came here for slavery?

They did not come voluntarily, they were kidnapped and forced into slavery waay back when in the 1600’s. Slavery was rampantly accepted in America up until the Civil war era which divided the north and south on abolishment of the practice. Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery during his presidency and this began the civil war in the U.S.
