Why do schizophrenics hallucinate bad/scary things? Why can't they hallucinate nice/fun things?

That’s an amazing question. I wonder if anyone has researched that. You’re right though. I think some people must hallucinate good things, but they probably don’t seek treatment or get misdiagnosed.

It's in the mind, so if that person was deaf when they were born ... not the senses. They are only translated in ways that make you think they come from the latter.

Last Answer : I agree with you. Saying things like “She’s in a better place now” presupposes that the mourner believes in an after-life which may or may not be true. I think quiet empathy without pushing one’s beliefs is much more helpful.
