Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but when one has auditory hallucinations, they are not actually hearing anything through their ears. It’s in the mind, so if that person was deaf when they were born and don’t know what sound is, they would interpret such hallucinations through whatever other means they were taught to communicate with. (touch, sign language, others) Just a guess. But hallucinations which denote dead dudes staring at you or the family cat telling you to drink paint work with your means of understanding and interpretation, and not the senses. They are only translated in ways that make you think they come from the latter.
