A mini notebook (or netbook) computer is great if you do a lot of traveling and use it primarily for online purposes. It does not have an optical disk hard drive so you will not be able to load any software onto your computer that requires a disk. They may have adequate memory, depending on your requirements but will not have as much memory as you can get with a regular laptop computer. As far as life expectancy, many reports have come back stating that they do not last as long as a laptop but if you get one of high quality and take care of it you should get a good life span out of it.
