First, bake your cake (if so desired) of any flavor. Let it cool before you start doing anything to it. I would recommend whipped cream and crushed Oreos to go between layers, but that's just a personal preference. The type of ice cream you want to buy is the large blocks of plain flavors such as vanilla or chocolate. Cut laterally into the block and layer whipped cream or frosting or crumbled oreos between layers of ice cream and cake. I recommend an icecream base with whipped cream and oreos between the cake layer in the middle and ice cream on top covered by more whipped cream and the child's name written on top.
