Is freon Refrigerant Harmful to the environment?

1 Answer

Answer :

Of course it is . Freon is a chlorofluorocarbons that causes depletion of ozone.Freon contains number of halo products like chlorine ,hydrogen bromine etc. Refrigerators are powerful source of these chlorofluorocarbons in the environment .1 kg of refrigerant has same potential of harming environment as 2 tonnes of C02. Refrigerators leaks these gases into environment they make the earth a hot house which is causing increased temperature on earth sea level rising .ice depletion etc.
