1 1/2 cups heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup water
Fruits, cakes, marshmallows and anything appropriate for chocolate fondue. Savory bread like sourdough is also acceptable.
Tools
Fondue set or fondue kit
Tea candle
Chef’s knife
Chopping board
Procedure
Slice the fruits and cakes into smaller bite-size pieces. Vanilla cakes are the best for chocolate fondue. The best fruits for fondue include bananas, mangoes, strawberries, kiwis and apples. Once you’ve sliced them to bite-size pieces, cover them with plastic wrap and keep in the refrigerator for the meantime.

Use a chef’s knife to break down the 1/2 pound kitchen chocolate (also known as cooking chocolate) into 1/2 inch chunks.
Use a saucepan to boil the water, set the heat to medium.
Put a metal or heatproof glass bowl that can sit recessed on top of the saucepan and not touch the water. If you have a double boiler, you can use this instead.
Put the chocolate in the top portion and stir until fully melted.
Mix the cream in with the melted chocolate, until cream and chocolate have fully blended. Make sure that there are no lumps.
You can make dark-and-white chocolate fondue by making another batch of white chocolate fondue using the same set of instructions. Later, pour a little bit of white chocolate fondue in the fondue pot followed by a bit of dark chocolate fondue, stirring occasionally. The two types of fondue will have mixed wonderfully at the end.
Prepare your fondue set. Light a small tea candle underneath the fondue pot.
Carefully pour the chocolate fondue into the fondue pot.
Bring out the fruits, cake, marshmallows and savory bread. Prepare toothpicks and forks for the guests to use to dip in the chocolate fondue.
