How to Prevent Going Bald
Going bald is a fear many men have. Not only is baldness deemed unattractive but it is also a sure sign of aging. While baldness is usually genetic, don’t lose hope just yet. There are some ways that you can prevent going bald or minimizing baldness, at least. None of them involves donning a wig. Here’s how.
Diet and Healthy Lifestyle
Daily, vigorous exercise and observing a healthy diet are key to preventing baldness. Combined, exercise and a healthy diet minimize stress and baseline insulin levels, both which cause baldness in higher levels. In terms of dieting, having a low-fat diet with a moderate calorie intake are showed to be effective as well. Exercising also helps circulation in your scalp, which also prevents baldness.
Scalp Circulation
Scalp circulation stimulates hair growth and prevents baldness. To promote circulation, you can do exercises, hydrotherapy and scalp massages. Hydrotherapy involves putting a hot cloth and a cold cloth alternately on your head, or switching shower temperatures in the same stream. Daily scalp massages using essential oils are also said to lessen the chances of balding.
Silica
Silica is an herb that naturally strengthens your hair. You can take silica herbal supplements that typically in pill form for a year. You can also apply silica in raw form directly to your hair to make it stronger and thicker.
Natural Hair Care
Commercial shampoos and conditioners contain chemicals that may be too harsh on your hair. You can still use milder forms of shampoo and follow it up with a more natural conditioner. Rosemary oil, raw silica, apple vinegar with a tea rinse are all natural materials that can work as a conditioner.
To make the tea rinse, make a cup of strong tea with ten slices of ginger slivers. Put in a few drops of rosemary oil and steep it in hot water. Once the water is cool enough, dip a washcloth in it and apply directly to your scalp, and compress it there until the tea is cool. Do this at least twice a day.
Saw Palmetto
Taking Saw Palmetto as a daily supplement is also said to be an effective arsenal against baldness. Saw Palmetto blocks DHT, which attacks hair follicles and thins out your hair. The older you get, the more DHT you produce, which in turn causes baldness.
Nutrition Supplements
Make sure that you’re getting your recommended daily amounts of iron, vitamin B, zinc and magnesium in your diet, all needed to keep your hair from balding or thinning. Potatoes, cucumbers and red peppers are rich in silica and iron all contain iron and silica, so make sure you include a lot of these in your diet as well.
Medication
There are many recommended medication out there to prevent baldness, but it’s best that you consult your doctor before taking any of said medications first.
Remember that many of these do not necessarily ensure that you will not go bald. However, a combined effort of any of these suggestions will certainly help. Good luck.
