How to Make Your Own Calendar
There are a lot of beautifully-made commercial calendars out there, but sometimes personalized calendars have that special touch that nothing else has. Here’s how to make your own calendars for your own use or to distribute to friends and family.
Choose 12 pictures you would like to use for your calendar. If you want to use more pictures, make 12 collages that will go with each month. If your pictures are high-resolution enough
You may want to use a photo editing software like Photoshop to make your collages or pictures look better. You can also use this to add text, make color schemes and other design additions you may want to do.
To make things easier for you, you can use a program such as SmartDraw, which can be downloaded from the Internet. If you don’t want to go through the trouble of getting a new program, you can use Microsoft’s Digital Image Suite which gives you an option to make calendars from their pre-made templates.
Transfer or convert the pictures you intend to use in either SmartDraw or Microsoft Digital Image Suite. It would be nice if you would make each photo that goes in each month thematic. For example, a family ********* photo would go well with the month of December. A family vacation to the beach would go well with the month of September.
Choose a calendar template, and the print size you would like to use. It can range from wallet-sized to poster-sized, depending on your needs and purposes.
Edit the settings to reflect the year you want your calendar to be. The program will adjust the dates accordingly.
Got special dates in your family, like anniversaries and birthdays? You don’t have to scribble them down by hand anymore. You can enter these notes using your program of choice.
Once you’re done, you can finally print out your homemade calendar. You can use photo printing paper in matte or glossy finish. If you’re planning to print a lot, you can ask the help of a professional printer. Otherwise, you can do it at home.
