How to Load a Staple Gun
A staple gun is a handy device to have around the house, ideal for various do-it-yourself tasks where nails and other sturdier materials are much too cumbersome. Eventually, though, your model will run out of staples, and you’ll have to reload it. Here’s how to load a staple gun the right way.
Choosing A Staple Gun
If you’re only about to purchase a staple gun, chances are you’re not so sure which type to get for your task. Staple guns vary according to their convenience, their costs and the type of work that you can do with them. Basically, they can be classified into two categories:
Light-duty staple guns - These are handy for simple and inexpensive projects and they come with small staples. You can use these for chores such as securing insulation, upholstering, and replacing window screens. Some craft projects such as stretching canvas also make use of light-duty staple guns. Heavy-duty staple guns - These make use of heavier and larger staples. Securing molding, trim, or ceiling tiles and stapling carpet padding are just a few examples of do-it-yourself tasks you can make. These are also ideal for thick materials, such as leather and vinyl. Steps
Features such as solid construction, rust-resistant finish and durability are very important when choosing a staple gun. Once you’ve got one, you now need to figure out the mechanism to open the staple loading area so you can put in the staples.

Find out where the pusher rod assembly release button is. This is usually a 1″ x 1″ square found at the staple gun’s rear. Each side has dimples, giving you a better grip. Hold onto these two areas using your pointer and thumb on either side. Push inwards, then down, and pull out. The rod assembly will be released.
You’ll see two metal rails parallel to each other at the rear end of your staple gun. Insert the desired compatible staples over these.
As you insert the staples, make sure they’re all level, without any sticking up above the gun.
Put the pusher rod assembly back in the staple gun. You can lock the pusher rod in place, then push the assembly straight in the opening, until it won’t go in further. Afterwards, push down and in then release.
A lot of people have experienced having staples embedded in their hands because of wrongly loading the staple guns. Follow these steps, and be very careful when doing this task, to prevent injuries.
