What is the cultivation method of cashew nut ?

1 Answer

Answer :

Cashew nuts can be propagated by both seed and pen method. Among the pens are cocoon pens , double pens , eye pens etc. Cashew nuts live up to 60-70 years and yield up to 50-60 years. Seedlings should be prepared from the seeds in poly bags or transplanted in the field. Before planting the seedlings a hole of 1 cubic meter size should be made keeping a distance of 6-7 meters. Seedlings should be planted after 15 days by mixing green manure and quantitative urea and TSP manure well with soil. When the seedlings sprout, a fresh seedling is left and the rest of the seedlings are removed. Seedlings can also be planted instead of seeds. The number of seedlings required per hectare is 245-335.
