How to Bag Groceries
There are many groceries with baggers assigned to help shoppers secure and pack up all the items that they purchased, but if you shop at discount grocery stores, it’s likely that you’ll need to do the bagging yourself. If you’re not careful, though, you’ll end up dropping your bags and making a mess before you even get home. Don’t fret, because here are some easy tips to follow when bagging groceries.

What You’ll Need:
Plastic or paper grocery bags (If you want to create your own grocery bag, learn how to make a grocery bag)
Groceries
Grocery cart
Procedure:
Prepare the grocery bags you’re going to use. You need to get the right type, the right size and the right amount. You should also know what items you’re getting that might pose problems for your choice. For example, if you’re getting meats and other frozen items, you should settle for stronger plastic bags, because paper ones would soak and weaken, leaking all over your car.
Examine the groceries quickly. This will give you an idea of how to distribute them.
Start with the heavy items. You need to distribute them evenly in between the bags, because too many heavy items in one bag will make it hard for you to carry.
Sort and pack items of the same variety together. For example, cleaning supplies should never be mixed with food items (even those that are canned or in jars). They should have a bag of their own. The same goes for toiletries, such as soap, tissue, toothpaste and shampoo. Put them in a separate bag.
Keep all the boxed groceries upright. This helps maximize space and also protect the contents.
No matter how tightly sealed canned, jarred and bottled liquids are, they should be placed upright. There’s a chance that when you put them on their side, they’ll leak and cause a mess.
Meat and other wet goods should have their own bags. Pack them in a plastic bag and seal properly, to avoid contamination.
Fragile items that can be crushed easily, such as eggs or bread, should have bags of their own.
Put the cold items together, stacking the frozen packages and cans at the bottom. Chilled items should be mixed with frozen ones, to keep them cool.
Put vegetables and fruits together, but make sure the small pieces don’t get crushed by the larger ones.
When you’re done, count how many bags you have. If there’s too many to carry, transfer them to a grocery cart. Wheel the cart out to your waiting car.
You can say goodbye to the many mess you’ve made from dropped grocery bags. As long as you know how to bag your groceries properly, there will be no crying over spilled milk! If you enjoy reading this article, you’ll surely be delighted to learn the Six ways to save on grocery bills.
