In animal cell the furrowing is the suitable mechanism for the cytokinesis since only the plasma membrane should be partitioned to form two daughter cells. But in plant cell the furrow formation is not suitable since both the plasma membrane and the cell wall have to be partitioned. So formation of cell plate occurs which later forms the cell wall.
