Answer :

I don't cut them back....I let them just die off.....maybe you need a little bone meal on them in the fall, use gloves & mask.  Are they in the right sun light.  Keep pulling the weeds in the spring & use what ever mulch color you like in the fall.  The bulbs here love it.  Fall to late fall is the best time to divide bulbs.  We live in NE PA
