Answer :

Did you have a spell of hot weather?  Heavy winds? Think back two or three weeks before you noticed the browning.  It sounds like it dried out and the leaf problem is the result.  What you are seeing now was caused by something a couple of weeks ago. Be sure to water it well in the mornings all the way out to the end of the leaf canopy.
