Answer :

Were they planted at the same level that they were in their containers.  Planting too low may cause this reaction. You don't mention how big the plants are, what size container they came in, where you are located, and what your weather has been like.  Did you plant them in sun or shade?  All of this is important for anyone to guess what might be wrong-0if anything-with your watering practices.
