My vet said that my dog's teeth needs a cleening. I've set up an appointment for next week. How often should a dog need to get their teeth cleaned? Is it similar to people? Should it be done once or twice a year?

I brush my dogs teeth with toothpaste and a rough rag, about once a week. I don't think you need a vet appointment unless their teeth are looking really bad. Usually vets say that so they can make more money then just saying 'brush your dog's teeth more'.
