I rescued a dog from the pound. He looks a bit like a Lab. Is there a way to check if he's got some lab in him?

You can always try to guess, but even veterinarians and techs are wrong most of the time. Looks can be deceiving. The only accurate way to determine what breeds are part of your dog is DNA testing. There are a number of places that do testing on dogs and they can be found online. Prices vary.
