I'm going to flip the script and provide an experience from the viewpoint of the child. Back when I got diagnosed with an isolated recurrence of cancer at 14, we decided not to do chemo, namely for the glaring fact I am deathly allergic. Well, hospital didn't like that, and got the CPS involved who illegally opened a case against me and my father. This agent proceeded to threaten my father, try to turn my mother against him, and tried forcing chemo, which I guess they didn't care I was deathly allergic to. We got them to back down, but that's the story of the time CPS and a hospital tried to kill me.
