I have almost the exact background minus the stepdad, right down to growing up poor in Florida. I don’t know why people do it, short-sightedness, ignorance, petty jealousies. People are wonderful and terrible all around. I just learned to not associate with those that would judge me because I have garage sale furniture. You can still sit on it, just because it’s not covered in leather it doesn’t change who I am.
