I think government here is trying to mirror the will of the people, who have grown up with Pluto as a planet. It’s practically traditional. I don’t think, however, that the people should win in this case. However, I also feel similarly about the People trying to legislate the teaching of “intelligent design” which is skewing science much the same way. For some, what they Believe is by necessity True, whether that makes us all mechanical watches, or whether it makes Pluto a planet.
