A boyfriend whom I had recently broken up with went abroad for a year. When he came back, he called my college looking for me. My ex-roommate, who was mad at me, didn’t give him any info about where I was – and I was in England by then. I only found this out years later. Had we reconnected, I might have ended up marrying him.
