answer:It is interesting. I never had the desire, but I think for women who do, it is an excellent career choice. And I do believe having children is a career choice, one that you lock yourself into full time for the next 18 or so years. Our culture tells women it is what they should want and tell men they should be spreading their seed (so to speak) to every woman they can! It makes for difficulties in connecting. But be patient, I think there are some men who think the same way you do, and I’m sure they will show up eventually. The reaction that you describe from your last boyfriend is probably because he thought you were “desperate.” That is a completely different situation but I suppose they could be confused.
