answer:It would be nice to know what he thinks we should do, but that would give Obama too much ammunition. So I guess he’s going to work it out with Congress. Which might work, as long as he had a Republican Congress. I guess we have to look for those studies about loopholes and see which ones would hit upper income people more. Not that that will save nearly enough money. Besides which, it’s a tax increase if you cut deductions. Inevitably, they will have to go after the middle class—the home mortgage deduction and the child care tax credit and maybe even health care and state and local tax deductions. But this guy says Romney wants to make the tax fairer and flatter. Which means he wants to raise rates for poorer people and reduce it for richer people. How that makes things fairer, I don’t know.
