At this time of year there are county fairs, outdoor concerts, festivals of various kinds (here we have a zucchini jamboree), summer music, theater and dance programs of various kinds, from classical to bluegrass. I live in a small town in NYS and there are too many choices of things to do here. Anything near your crappy community? (Given your earlier question, I am afraid to ask whether you have access to a car.)
