answer:You can tell a lot about a person just by looking at them. Their face, skin and hair condition, how they are dressed, especially their posture. Do they look tired or energized. Do they appear happy, sad, stressed, agitated or excited. Then there is the big tell and that is body language. Most if not all people have this ability to “size” up a person and most do not realize they are able to or doing this “sizing”. It is done automatically as part of our survival instinct to instantly determine friend or foe. It is also known as our 6th sense. We all have had that moment when we say to ourselves…“I should have listed to my gut instinct about that person”. The ones who you think that can see right though to the depths of your soul have mastered this ability to read and size up people. They consciously use the tools of observation coupled with their well honed instincts to be able to with surprising accuracy see right through you and know your soul inside and out. My old boss was expert at this and share a few tricks of the trade about body language with me as he knew I would need it when I took over the company and then had to deal with the employees! There is a pretty good book called Blink that explains this ability humans have to “size” up a person and a situation and how and why it works and works better for some.
