answer:We have a timed programmable thermostat, so the heat is off while we are away, and then on in the hours we are home but awake. And, we set the temperature to be lower while sleeping. Keeping the house on the cool side is also a big part of saving. Most of the time we are no higher than 66 F. (we get down to freezing a dozen nights a year, rarely below 28F).
