Honestly, I don’t have a sense of what is above and beyond the call of duty. It’s not like I can just do enough to get by and then stop. When I work on a project, I do my very best, always. This statement shows that this job candidate is truly a hard worker who cares about her work. It’s more than just a job to her. She can’t justify giving less than her best effort to any project entrusted to her.

Never Say: “Hopefully, if I go above and beyond the call of duty, I’ll get recognition for my work.” This candidate doesn’t seem to be self-motivated, since her rewards come from the outside.
