Buffering is temporary storage while a computer completes current tasks. Two typical places where buffering occurs are:- (1) Downloading from the internet... the connection may be able to deliver data faster than the computer can process it. (2) Printing... since printers work relatively slowly in relation to the computer, the computer can create a 'queue' of documents waiting to be printed.
