Orthodox Judaism entirely ignores the Christian New Testament and focuses on careful adherence to the 613 commandments in the Torah, as understood through the lens of the prophets, the later writings, the Talmud and the rabinnic traditioin. Messianic Judaism places huge value on the New Testament, and because of that, it devalues the 613 commandments in the Torah and largely rejects the Talmud. Messianic Jews attempt to preserve the form of Jewish worship while placing Christian beliefs at its core.
