Sleep apnea is commonly treated with the use of a CPAP machine, but there are some lifestyle changes that may help reduce mild to moderate sleep apnea such as losing weight, stop smoking, and avoid alcohol, seeping pills and caffeine. Also, heavy meals should not be eaten close to bedtime. Maintaining regular bedtime hours, may also be helpful. Some people have found that sleeping on their side, or propping up their head when they sleep helps alleviate sleep apnea.
