There are a number of steps that you will need to take as you progress from not having a job to working in the nursing industry. After you have completed your education and taken the right tests that lead to your certification, it will be up to you to find a job that you can do. Just having the education does not mean that employers will come looking for you. You need to find a job, apply for it, and then do everything that you can to secure it for yourself. The first step is to get a nursing resume template so that your resume covers everything that is needed. This is slightly different than applying for another type of job. You need a specific template so that you can make sure that you do not forget anything that is important. For instance, most employers will just look at your education. However, those who work at the hospital will also need to see that you have completed your certification tests. If you use the wrong template and you leave this information out, you may not get the job. This could be true even if you have taken the tests because you will just not get an interview to explain yourself. After you submit the resume, you will have an interview. This may be conducted over the phone if you do not live close to the hospital. It will most likely be conducted in person, though. Basically, you will be asked a series of questions. The answers may already be on your resume, but you should state them again anyway. The employer will ask to see if you are consistent. You will also answer more questions that will come up during the discussion. The final step will be your training. This will come after you have had a number of interviews. You will be offered the position, and you can look over the contract to decide if you want to sign it or not. If you do, you will then come in for training for your normal work hours. You may shadow other nurses and you may meet with people to learn about the hospital.
