Can I get help in paying for my child's college education?

1 Answer

Answer :

There are 3 kinds of help for college tuition. The first you will not have to pay back and is in the form of grants. These may be given on the basis of family or in some cases race. The next is in the form of student loans. These loans anyone can get and are guaranteed by the government. Repayment is usually fairly low rates and does not start until graduation or the student is no longer taking classes. The third is scholarships. These are granted by businesses and school based on some ability either academing or athletic. Nearly every college has an admissions office and a financial aid advisor. Check with them for your individual needs. The federal program for financial aid is an entitlement based on need. When the time comes, you will complete a FAFSA to determine your child's eligibility. You may do this online for free at www.fafsa.edu.gov The federal program includes grants and loans.
