I have found a similar question (via a web search) asking aboutprobabilities with the given data, but nothing about a venn diagramso I have rewritten the question to best represent the originaltruncated statement with a question word stuffed on the front whichwas done instead of thinking about the problem, summarising theoriginal facts and creating a proper question from them (in 200characters or less). As they are equal candidates they are clearly applying for a jobwhere the given qualifications are irrelevant, eg cleaners at a busgarage.Summing the various attributes there are 3 qualified Accountants+ 4 graduates + 2 neither = 9 candidates. But there are 8 candidates so there is 1 candidate who is both aqualified accountant and a graduate. The diagram will consist of a rectangle representing the"universe" of 8 candidates. Inside will be 2 overlapping circles, one for qualified accountants and the second for graduates. Thenumbers 2, 2, 1, 3 will be placed in the diagram: 2 inside therectangle, outside both circles, 2 inside the qualified accountantonly section of that circle, 1 inside the overlap of the twocircles and 3 inside the graduate only section of that circle.
