The 1500s and 1600s was the time of the Renaissance and then theEnlightenment. Both were concerned about man, nature, and howthings worked. The Scientific Revolution started in the 1500sduring the Renaissance. This is heralded by the publication ofAndreas VesaliusÕs book On the Workings of the Human Body. NicolausCopernicus, Galileo Lalilei, Tycho Brahe, and Johannes Brahe wereother scientists of this time period to advance science. In the1600s, the scientific method became more widespread. Isaac newtonis one of the scientists most closely associated with this timeperiod.
