How to make a bigger hole in the wall?

The wall has fallen and I need to make it. But it is larger "About 2 cm deep in the wall and about 20 cm wide". Plaster is probably not enough for that anymore, is it? What to do with it?

When this happened to me, I pounded the fallen plaster, overcooked it and, together with water, plaster and dispersion glue, made a porridge, which I repaired the wet hole. I had a long ruler on hand, and by that I leveled what went beyond the scoop. And she wiped it with a wet brush until lost. I call such procedures the path of least resistance.
