I'm not an expert, but since I have a tattoo, I've been through the "healing" process after a tattoo. Immediately after the tattoo, the tattooed part is smeared and covered with foil to avoid possible infections. During the healing process, the foil should be removed every 3-4 hours and then the tattoo should be gently washed with lukewarm water and antibacterial soap. The moisture remaining after washing should be left to dry or wipe with a paper towel. Once the skin is dry, apply a thin layer of Bepanthem cream. Wait approx. 10 minutes until the cream is absorbed, then replace the cleaned or, better still, new disinfected foil. Then all you have to do is glue the edges of the foil to keep it in place. It is usually necessary to foil for 2-3 days, during which time there is a risk of infection, after which the foil should be avoided, but continue the treatment with cream for another 7 days. Once these 7 days have passed, you may want to continue the treatment with a few days of oily body lotion to keep your skin from drying out. The only thing about foiling is that you can stick to the wound enough at first. Remove the foil with a slow, gentle motion to avoid further injury.
