Why do good eggs sink in water and rotten eggs float ?

1 Answer

Answer :

You must know that rotten eggs float in water. But a good egg does not float , it sinks in water. But you know why ? Because sulfide gas. Rotten eggs float due to the presence of sulfide gas inside them. However, a good egg does not contain any gas , so it sinks. I have already said that rotten eggs contain sulfide gas. So when this egg is put in water, sulfide gas applies upward pressure on the egg. As a result, the average density of eggs decreases. Then the average density of the egg. Becomes less than the average concentration of water. Therefore , the amount of water removed by putting rotten eggs in water is more than the mass of eggs. And this is why rotten eggs float in water. On the other hand, the average density of a good egg is higher than the concentration of water. So if you put a good egg in water, the amount of water it removes is less than the mass of the egg. That is why if a good egg is left in water, it sinks.

Description : Why does an iron needle float on clean water but sink when some detergent is added to this water?

Last Answer : Ans: Due to surface tension, the free surface of liquid at rest behaves like a stretched membrane. Last Answer : Answer: A  Let the total number of eggs in the basket be x  20 % of the eggs are rotten, and eggs in good condition are 68  Therefore, according to the question,  80% of x = 68  80/100 × x = 68  x = (68 × 100)/80  x = 6800 / 80  x = 85  Therefore, total number of eggs in the basket is 85.

Description : Clouds float in the atmosphere because of their – (1) low pressure (2) low density (3) low viscosity (4) low temperature

Last Answer : (2) low density Explanation: The key to why clouds float is that the density of the same volume of cloud material is less than the density of the same amount of dry air. Just as oil floats on water ... it is less dense, clouds float on air because the moist air in clouds is less dense than dry air.
