How to Throw a Wiffle Ball
Do you want to play baseball but don’t have enough space for the game? Why not try wiffle ball? This game is like baseball, but can be played indoors or in small areas such as your backyard.
The first thing you should learn is to throw a good wiffle ball. Since the ball is much lighter than a baseball, it’s a bit hard to control it.
There are several ways to throw a wiffle ball. Here are some throws that you might want to try.
Kinds:
Fast ball. The holes of the ball should be facing down. Put your thumb in the middle of the ball and your index finger on one of the holes. Your middle finger should be right below the midpoint of the ball. Use a sidearm movement and throw the ball as fast as you can.

Right-to-left curve. Use this throw for right-handed batters because the ball’s direction will be from right to left. The batter will miss the ball. The holes should be on the left side, as well as your thumb and index finger. Your middle finger should be on the opposite side. Support the ball with your ring finger. Don’t throw the ball too hard.
Left-to right curve. This is just the opposite of the right-to-left curve and is for left-handed batters.
Sinker. Hold the ball so the holes are directed to the ground. Stick your middle finger on one of the holes and position your ring finger under the ball. Grip the ball with your thumb and index finger on the other side. With a sidearm movement, throw the ball as high and as hard as you can.
Knuckleball. Stick your 4 fingers in the holes and put your thumb underneath the ball. Throw the ball as far as you can.
Dive curve. The holes should be facing upward. Grip the ball using your thumb, index and middle finger. Don’t hold the ball too tight. When doing a dive curve, give just enough force on your throw that it’s not too fast or too slow.
Cutter. Hold the ball as if making a dive curve. Grip the ball tightly. When throwing, twist your wrist a bit so the holes are facing out when you release the ball. Throw using a sidearm motion.
Giant curve ball. Holes should be facing the ground. Put your thumb and middle finger on the holes. Extend your index finger on top of the ball. With a sidearm action, release and throw the ball.
Tips:
You need to practice a lot to master these throws. Try different techniques and find out what gives you better control over the ball.
