How to Make Your Voice Deeper
If you’re not satisfied with your voice pitch or you wish to make voices different then your own, you can try making your voice deeper. Who knows, you might even be able to make your deeper voice permanent. Here’s how.
Speak from the Gut
When you’re singing, notice how your voice originates from either your chest or your throat. When you need to sing low notes, you need to originate your voice from the stomach, or your gut. You can also try this exercise to see how the depth of your voice changes. Start humming and slowly bend your neck downwards until your chin nearly touches your chest. You’ll notice that your voice lowers as you lower your head. Try to isolate and maintain the lower tone even if your head is raised up.
Another way to speak from your gut is to take deeper breaths while you speak, and feel your diaphragm expand and contract. This will help give your voice some weight, and in turn, sound lower.
Gain Confidence
Sometimes, your voice sounds high because you don’t speak up too much. Make use of your voice and speak up. Louder Sounding more confident isn’t just in the way you talk, but in the way you carry yourself, too. Stand up straight, keep your head up while you’re speaking, look people in the eye and square back your shoulders. Maybe you’ll be surprised hearing the sound of your own voice this time around.
Practice
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to you, but speaking with a deeper voice comes with practice. It’s like a singer who wants to hit higher or lower notes beyond his or her comfort zone. It’s all about making a conscious effort to make that change. Pretty soon, you’ll start adapting and be more comfortable with the lower voice you’ve attained, or bring it out every other day for a party trick.
