Badminton is a vicious sport. It never lets up. It keeps the player on his or her toes as much as it pushes the audience to the edge of their seats, and everybody loves that sensation.
Whether you’re a professional badminton player duking it out on a singles match for your very first shot at world championship, or simply one of the thousands of audiences whose eyes are glued to a doubles match between two of the world’s greatest badminton pairs, you can never deny the vicious yet attractive power of the sport.
Badminton strategy refers to the set of playing modes and techniques used in the game of badminton.
Almost all kinds of sports employ different kinds of strategies—some to take advantage of the terrain, some to exploit the opponent’s weakness, some to overturn even the laws of the game itself, but all share a single purpose: to turn the tables in favor of the team employing the strategy.
Badminton Strategies
Singles Match – In a singles match, the general idea is to force your opponent to move around the entire space of his or her side of the court. The more running around, the more room for errors. Try to direct your smashes (or all your strokes in general) towards the corners of the court.
Doubles Match – The doubles match uses a wider court, not to mention there are two persons on the other side waiting to take on your smash anytime. Now the key thing in doubles matches is to get the opposing players to provide you with a low-arc and high trajectory of the shuttle so you can follow up with a smash.
A mixed double is a complicated setup. A high level of playing skills is an absolute must for anyone to survive in this area.
