The secretions of the glands outside the digestive tract that participate in the digestion of food are called digestive glands. The salivary glands , liver and pancreas include the digestive glands. Saliva is secreted from the salivary glands. It contains enzymes called water , sodium bicarbonate and amylase. Water softens food. Bicarbonate alleviates food acidity. Tylenol sugars digest food. Bile is produced from the liver and stored in the gallbladder. This helps in digestion of fatty foods . The pancreas is the source of the enzymes trypsin , chymotrypsin , lycose and amylase. Trypsin and chymotrypsin help digest non-vegetarian foods , lycose fatty foods and amylase sugary foods.
