Answer : The time for Fajr prayers is from dawn till sunrise. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said , 'The time for Fajr prayer begins from dawn to dawn.' (Muslim , Hadith No. 612) In the Holy Qur'an, Allah the Almighty says , " Surely prayer is obligatory upon the believers in due time." (Surat an-Nisa ' , verse: 103) It is obligatory to perform qasas if the Fajr prayers are missed due to sleep or any other reason. Because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said , ' Whoever forgets to perform the prayer or runs away because he was asleep at that time , his expiation is that he will perform the prayer whenever he thinks of it.' (Muslim , Hadith No. 64) After the time of Fajr prayers has passed, it should be performed before Zuhr. If the time for the Zohar prayers has passed, then only the obligatory Fajr prayers will be performed. You don't have to read the Sunnah. It is a sin for a poet not to perform prayers intentionally within a specified time. For , Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning ) : (Surah Maun , verses: 4-5).
